Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Foontro, we aim to maintain fairness and transparency for both clients and freelancers. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and payouts are handled on our platform.

Platform Role

Foontro acts as a marketplace and payment facilitator. We hold payments securely until project completion or resolution, but we are not a party to the contract between clients and freelancers.

Processing Time

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method. Refunds typically take 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider and bank.

Cancellation & Refund Scenarios

Scenario 1: Client Cancels Before Work Starts

Condition

Freelancer has not started work. No files or deliverables submitted.

Outcome

  • Refund: 100% of the project amount refunded.
  • Payout: 0% payout.
  • The platform fee is not refunded.

Scenario 2: Client Cancels After Work Has Started

Condition

Freelancer has started work or shared partial progress.

Outcome

  • Refund: Client receives 50% of the project amount.
  • Payout: The freelancer receives 50% of the project amount.
  • The platform fee is not refunded.

Scenario 3: Project Completed Successfully

Condition

Freelancer submits final work. Client marks project as completed.

Outcome

  • Refund: No refund applicable.
  • Payout: Freelancer receives 100% of the project amount (minus platform fee).
  • Foontro retains 12% platform fee.

Scenario 4: Client Becomes Unresponsive

Condition

The client stops responding after work has started.

Outcome

  • Refund: Client receives 0% refund.
  • Payout: Freelancer receives 100% of the project amount.
  • The platform fee is not refunded.

Scenario 5: Freelancer Fails to Deliver

Condition

Freelancer does not deliver work or misses deadlines without valid reason.

Outcome

  • Refund: 100% of the project amount refunded.
  • Payout: 0% payout.
  • The platform fee is not refunded.

Dispute Resolution

  • Both parties must raise the issue through the Foontro platform.
  • Foontro may review in-platform chats, submitted files, and project details.
  • Our decision will be based on fairness, proof of work, and platform policies.
  • Foontro’s decision in dispute resolution is final and binding.
